    Founder and Principal

I founded TLBJCPA in 2017, after more than 25 years of experience in Public Accounting, Private Industry, and Banking, with expertise that spans the U.S. and Europe. I take pride in building strong, long-lasting relationships and positioning myself to assist clients with their finances, accounting, and taxes.

As a lifelong learner, I complete 40 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) each year to stay current in my field. This commitment ensures that I can offer the most up-to-date advice and strategies to my clients, tailored to their unique needs. At TLBJCPA, we understand that every client is different, and we’re dedicated to providing personalized solutions that fit each individual’s situation.

When I’m not at the office, I enjoy staying active with racquetball, golf, and my latest passion, pickleball. I also take pride in being the best free throw shooter in my family, a claim I still defend with my wife Jan and our two adult daughters, Jessica and Jordyn.

    Jordyn Brooks

    Senior Associate

I am a 2022 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with degrees in Accounting and Business.  I am an experienced Financial Analyst with a strong background in financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic forecasting. With 3+ years in the finance industry, I specialize in preparing detailed financial reports, and providing  actionable insights to guide business decision-making.

I am passionate about helping others and making sure our clients get the best service possible to achieve all of their business goals. A few other passions of mine include social media and marketing which I am excited to help the firm with as we continue to grow.

In my free time, I like to keep myself busy by going to the gym and doing strength training and cardio dance.  Staying on track with my competitive nature I started playing pickleball a couple times a week to make sure I can keep up with the rest of my family. I love the beach and traveling to new places with my friends. Contrary to what my boss might say on his bio I do in fact have the best free throw percentage out of the family members.

I look forward to working with you all in the future!

    Jessica Brooks

    Associate

Hi! My name is Jessica Brooks, but you can call me Jess. I am a 2024 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with degrees in Finance and Marketing and a minor in Psychology. I would be lying if I said my passion was for Excel spreadsheets; instead, I thrive when I can help grow businesses, see ROIs, develop efficient supply chains, or enhance internal operations. I have been a captain of WashU’s Varsity Women’s Basketball team for three years and am taking my fifth year (thank you, COVID). Currently, I am pursuing my MBA at WashU’s Olin Business School with an emphasis in Supply Chain and Operations. When I’m not on the court, working with Thurman, or studying for school, you can find me relaxing in my bed, going for a long walk, at Target, or recording an episode of my bi-weekly podcast: What Our Parents Really Do (available everywhere—feel free to check it out!). Everyone has told me I don’t have to know what I want to be when I grow up, so I am continuing to explore my passions and interests to find the best way to share my God-given talents with the world and make a difference.

    Intern

Hi, my name is Kennedy Mulvaney, and I am a junior at the University of Kansas studying Global and International Studies and German, with a minor in business! I grew up in Saint Louis and went to Kirkwood High School. I took an accounting class for my business minor, and after that, I realized I had a knack for “crunching numbers”— and liked it, too! Ever since, I have had the opportunity of continuing to learn about accounting and have had the pleasure of putting my learning in practice with Thurman.

In my free time, I love to read, watch true crime documentaries, and run. My favorite colors are green, black, and gray. My favorite type of food is Italian, but my favorite food right now has to be an apple with peanut butter and chocolate chips.
